My name is Alina Hensel. I live in Shoreline and have
two school-aged daughters. I have loved babies since
I was a small child. Now that my "babies" are in
school, I am following my passion by helping new
parents settle in with their own babies.
I believe that becoming a mother is an ongoing
process. The birth of a baby is just the beginning of
a complex, deep, and rewarding relationship. I enjoy
teaching and guiding my children, but what is most
amazing to me is what they teach me about myself.
I love being a Postpartum Doula and helping new families "find their feet" as parents. Having gone through a difficult postpartum period myself, I find it rewarding to provide the kind of support I could have used, had I known where to look.
My qualifications:
- Former NAPS Co-Director
- Certified Gottman Educator, Bringing Baby Home
- Postpartum Doula Training, Seattle Midwifery School
- B.S. Psychology, University of Washington
"We had a lot of help with our newborn, premature twins, and each time Alina came to fill a shift, we'd sigh with relief: she was consistently helpful, competent and friendly. She has a wonderfully calm presence to her . . . and a genuine interest in helping the family" -- EN & DN
